Your church council meets the third Monday of each month. The of the previous month's meeting are approved and posted on the bulletin board in the Fellowship Hall. Please take a look. On January 21st, items discussed included approval of the budget for presentation at the financial annual meeting on January 28, plans for the summer's Vacation Bible School and property matters including some issues of heating. Jackie Brueggemann heads the upcoming capital campaign with the assistance of an organization called Stewardship Key Leaders. Updating the constitution remains a work in progress. The telephone calling system (Phone Tree) is nearly ready. Suzann Manecke volunteered to oversee decorations for special events during the church year. Thank you, Suzann. Ron Fogel and Bob Slama have reorganized the room behind the choir loft with an amazing system for easy access to banners and decorating materials. Thank you, Ron and Bob. We continue to work out details of our agreement with the Liberian Congregation which worships at St. Mark on Sunday mornings. The Church Council is in need of an interim Parish Life Chairperson. To get more information about stepping into this post, please contact Larry Raasch, Pastor Walt, or another council member. Need more detail about what your council is doing? Speak with a council member.
We welcome Jeff Christensen as our new part-time janitor.
Jeff will be working 10-12 hours per week to keep our church clean and orderly. If you have compliments about how well the church is being cleaned or a specific area that needs attention, please speak with Ron Fogel, Property Chair, so he and Jeff can
strive to make St. Mark welcoming
and fresh environment.
Welcome, Jeff!
St. Mark is participating in a community project called Hearts and Hammers. This special project is designed to assist qualifying seniors in getting necessary repairs and maintance for the exterior of their homes. It is a wonderful program to help people right here in our own community.
